Verna Tucker
A major inspiration for A Christmas to Remember was the grandmother of our writer, Branden Taylor. Verna Tucker (pictured to the left), whom he loving called “Beemah,” moved in with his family when he was sixteen years old. As Branden witnessed her journey with dementia and watched his mother step into the role of caregiver, he experienced firstand the tenderness, strength, and complexity of family during difficult seasons. Beemah’s uplifiting spirit and the love that surrounded her became the emotional heartbeat of this story – a reminder that even in the face of loss, love endures.
